The CEO of Fidelity Bank, Mrs Onyeali-Ikpe, alongside other top female management staff of the bank, hosted Ms Linda Ikeji, the CEO of Linda Ikeji Media, to a Ladies’ Hangout.
The meeting, which took place last week, was “an opportunity to discuss the creation of a long-term platform that educates, supports, and empowers women to achieve career/business leadership,” Mrs Onyeali-Ikpe said.
Mrs Onyeali-Ikpe added that through “strategic collaborations”, Fidelity Bank “can set up a forum for young aspiring entrepreneurs to have a one-on-one interaction with successful career women in Fidelity Bank” and this will provide them “with the opportunity to ask questions and share their experiences.”
Speaking, Ms Linda Ikeji lauded the bank’s effort at organizing women empowerment programmes. She said that more Nigerian women need such platforms that motivate them to believe there is no limit to what they can achieve.
Ms Linda Ikeji also encouraged budding female entrepreneurs to get ahead by conducting research and identifying the needs of consumers.
The importance of hard work and innovation was also discussed.
Mrs. Onyeali-Ikpe noted that female business owners and professionals must make it a point of duty to be consistent and tenacious to succeed in business.
The women present also acknowledged the importance of the right support system to help women thrive in the workplace.
The Fidelity Bank MD said that the bank had put in place necessary measures to improve gender equality and assist women in the Bank’s workforce thrive effortlessly on the job.
