A housefly landed on the Vice President during his face-off with Democrat rival Kamala Harris, with viewers dubbing it the “lie detector” and some suggested it should run for President in 2024
In a debate between two US Vice Presidential candidates it was a common house fly that stole the show.
The fly landed on Republican Mike Pence’s head during the US vice presidential debate as he discussed the serious matters of racial tension and police violence in the US.
It proved quite the distraction for many viewers of a largely well behaved, if rather muted, 90 minute confrontation with Democrat Kamala Harris.
But while he didn’t appear to notice the bug on his white mane, Twitter certainly did.
And social media being what it is, the bug was quickly dubbed the “lie detector”, spawned its own hashtag #fly2024 and even got its own Twitter account.
