French club, Nantes, have completed the permanent signing of Super Eagles star Moses Simon on a four-year deal from Levante after he was named last month as the Canary player of the Season for the 2019-20 campaign.

Simon joined the Canaries on a temporary deal from Levante last summer after struggling to make an impact with Levante in La Liga last season.

Before the season concluded early due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Simon, 24, contributed nine goals and eight assists in 30 appearances for Nantes helping them finish 13th in the Ligue 1 standings. His loan contract has now been made permanent with a new contract that runs till 2024 .

Simon says he’s happy at Nantes compared to when he was at Levante and had problems learning Spanish.

“At Levante, I did not play very well due to some circumstances with the coach. In Spain, the coach only spoke Spanish and I needed a translator,” Simon said.

“It was easier to play in France because I understand the language more and communication is very good with the coach.

“I am enjoying my football now. The most important thing is to play. Not to sit on the bench. To have the freedom to play, have the freedom to speak and to do what you know how to do best.”
