Cleveland Police have confirmed that a toddler is fighting for her life in hospital and a man has been arrested in connection with the incident in New Marske, North Yorkshire
A two-year-old girl is fighting for her life after a 999 incident sparked an emergency response to a property in North Yorkshire.
A 26-year-old man has been arrested over an incident at a house in the village of New Marske yesterday morning.
The toddler has been taken to Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary where she is being treated for her injuries.
A spokesman for the force said enquiries are continuing into the circumstances surrounding how the little girl came about her injuries.
The man remains in police custody.
“Police can confirm that a two-year-old girl is in a critical condition in hospital following a call to a property on Dale Street, New Marske, on the morning of Tuesday 10 November,” said a spokesman for Cleveland Police.
“The child is receiving treatment at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle.
