Ebonyi state’s auditor-general, Innocent Nweda and the Auditor General for local government in the state, George Ukpai have been suspended indefinitely by Governor David Umahi.

Secretary to the State Government(SSG) Kenneth Ugbala who made the announcement, said the auditors were suspended for failing to carry out their duties. They were accused of failing to prepare and produce the annual audited accounts of the State and Local government.

While Nweda was asked to hand over to the next most senior officer in rank, Governor Umahi asked Dr U. A. Udu to take over as Acting Auditor General for local government until further notice.
