Greene King is preparing to close dozens of pubs across the UK, following a slump in trade exacerbated by the mandatory 10pm curfew.
The company has launched a consultation with 800 employees about a redundancy process tied to 25 permanent closures.
In total, 78 pubs will close, according to Sky News sources.
Greene King which owns almost 1,700 pubs in Britain, said it will look to redeploy staff where possible.
The company has more than 38,000 employees UK-wide.
