Guerdy Abraira is giving an update on her health after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2023.
The Real Housewives of Miami star, 46, shared at Bravo Fan Fest on Saturday, Nov. 23, that she’s “feeling good.”
“We’re thriving,” she tells PEOPLE. “It’s onward from here, baby, cancer free. I’m living my best life, day by day.”
“I learned that I should have been more selfish a long time ago,” she adds. “This is my ‘me’ era, Guerdy 2.0. All about me, and unapologetically too.”
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE last month, Abraira said her gynecologist had found a cancerous tumor in her left breast during a mammogram in March 2023. She was diagnosed with stage 1B estrogen-receptor-positive breast cancer, which means the cancer cells use estrogen to grow.

The entrepreneur had a lumpectomy to remove it in June 2023. Since there was a 36% chance of recurrence, Abraira underwent four sessions of chemotherapy followed by 20 rounds of radiation over the next five months.
She shared several emotional moments from her cancer journey with RHOM fans on the show, including the moment her husband Russell Abraira helped shave her head, as well as when she broke the news to their two sons Miles, 17, and Liam, 11.
But in November 2023, she was declared cancer-free.
At Bravo Fan Fest, she shared why she continues to rock her shaved head. “Hot flashes are a bitch,” she tells us.
Abraira said that after having a hysterectomy, she feels like she’s “a different person but it’s empowering me to sit in my truth. I feel beautiful because of it.”
Her support system continues to be her family, calling Russell an “angel.”
“I pinch myself every day because it’s still here, and our love is just exploring such new depths, you know, and it tested us too,” she says. After six surgeries, she shares that they’re “trying to work on the romance, getting our groove back.”

While in remission for the past 11 months, she told us previously that she’s still dealing with complications from her June 2023 surgery. She developed capsular contracture in her left breast — which is when scar tissue around a breast implant tightens and becomes hard — which led to breast implant removal.
This prompted her to seek surgery to fix her breasts so that they matched in size. Surgeons did a liposuction procedure on the back section of her waist and grafted the fat to her left breast. Aside from the surgeries, she said she also suffered from pain and tension in the ligaments in her left arm and shoulder.
Guerdy noted that her focus is spending time with her family: “It’s all about quality, not quantity, and intimacy as a family,” she said.
The Real Housewives of Miami is available to stream on Peacock.
