Hoodlums yesterday attacked Nigeria Customs office in Yauri, Kebbi state. The attack was launched shortly after officers retrieved 41 bags of smuggled parboiled rice.
Reports had it that after the operation, huge armed hoodlums attacked the customs office, and took 29 bags of rice along with one rifle.
The rifle was later retrieved from them after sister agencies (security) engaged them in a gun duel.
The spokesperson of the Command, Tajudeen noted that the hoodlums vandalized a senior officer’s car and destroyed offices and air conditioners.
Suspects have been arrested according to Tajudeen, while some are still on the run.
Oo While, thanking the sister agencies for their support, Comptroller Earnest O warned smugglers to stay off Kebbi or engage in lawful business that would have the backing of the customs.
