Some Nigerian men residing in Lagos state took to social media to lament after they were arrested last night, August 5 for flouting the 10pm curfew put in place by the Federal government to curb the spread of the novel Coronavirus.

According to the men, there was heavy traffic in Lagos on Wednesday, so they couldn’t beat the curfew hour.

The police officers enforcing the traffic in Ikeja arrested them and threw them in a crowded cell where none of the COVID-19 protocols such as social distancing was observed. Twitter user, Osinaike Joseph, who shared videos from the cell, alleged that the police officers refused to release some of them who were visibly sick. They accused the police of demanding bribe from them before their release.
