The South Korean came off the bench on Thursday night to smash his ninth goal in six games against LASK

Jose Mourinho reckons Son Heung-min deserves a new Tottenham contract and more headlines for being “an incredible kid”.

The South Korean came off the bench to score his ninth goal in six games against LASK in the Europa League.

Son has always been overshadowed in the Premier League by Harry Kane – and now Gareth Bale – though he is a superstar in Asia.

And Mourinho, who takes his side to Burnley on Monday, said: “I would love him to sign a new contract. Son has three years left on his contract so it’s not like we are in an extreme situation of everybody being too worried, I think it’s more a question of Son loves it here.

“But I wish it, he deserves and the club knows that. And I believe that sooner or later they will without any pressure, they will arrive into into decision.
