Kevin Spacey said in an interview Tuesday that he flew to Africa in 2002 with Jeffery Epstein, former President Bill clinton  and a group of “young girls.”

The 64-year-old disgraced actor, who has faced several allegations of sexual misconduct, made the revelation during an interview with British journalist Piers Morgan on the presenter’s eponymous YouTube show Piers Morgan Uncensored and continually denied that he was ever “friends” with Epstein, the deceased sex offender.

Spacey’s sexual misconduct allegations first came to light in 2017, when actor Anthony Rapp accused Spacey of making a sexual advance towards him in 1986 when Rapp was 14. Following this, numerous other men came forward with similar allegations, leading to Spacey being fired from hit Netflix show House of Cards and removed from several projects.

The allegations span from the 1970s to the 2010s, involving both civil and criminal cases in the U.S. and the U.K. Spacey has denied all allegations and some cases have resulted in acquittals or dismissals. In 2023, a U.K. court acquitted Spacey of sexual assault charges. The release of the documentary Spacey Unmasked in May brought renewed attention to the allegations.

During the trial of Epstein’s  long time girlfriend and associate Ghislaine Maxwell , Epstein’s pilot testified that he had seen Spacey, along with other celebrities, on Epstein’s flights.

What We Know

In the interview, Morgan questioned Spacey on his relationship to Jeffrey Epstein, Bill Clinton, Prince Andrew and Ghislaine Maxwell.

The actor explained that he met Epstein after Clinton invited him on an eight-day humanitarian trip to Africa in 2002, primarily focused on raising awareness and prevention for AIDS. When flight log records confirmed Spacey’s presence on Epstein’s jet (dubbed the “Lolita Express”), he initially denied any connection.

In the interview he said, “I have since learned who he is and I have since been able to go back and find out that the airplane that we flew on for this humanitarian mission was owned by Jeffrey Epstein.”

Spacey expressed discomfort about Epstein’s presence, particularly due to the young girls on the flights.

“I felt he put the president at risk on that trip to South Africa because there were these young girls,” he told Morgan.

He clarified that he was with the Clinton Foundation people during the trip.

Newsweek has reached out to the Clinton Foundation via their website for comment.

Spacey said that after the African trip, he then went to Buckingham Palace with the former president, who was going to “see Prince Andrew.”

He said that while they were at Buckingham Palace, pictures were taken in the throne room, including one of Spacey and Ghislaine Maxwell, and they then went up to meet Prince Andrew. He claims that “I’d never met him before; I’ve not seen him since.”

Spacey denied he was ever friends with Epstein. “I didn’t know him, I didn’t spend any time with him.”

“He’s not my friend, I’m not a confidant, I’ve never spent time with him,” he added.
