Lille manager, Christophe Galtier has announced that Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen will be leaving the club this summer.
The 21-year-old youngster has been in top form for the club, scoring 13 goals in 25 appearances as Lille finished the 2019/20 season in fourth place.
Back in May, Lille owner Gerard Lopez revealed that ‘multiple offers’ have been made for the Nigerian star. Coach Galtier has now confirmed that Arsenal target Osimhen and one of his teammates, Gabriel will leave the club.
Speaking at a press conference, the Lille manager said: ‘Regarding Victor and Gabriel, yes, I’ve known for a long time that they’re leaving.’
‘They’re working hard with us in the meantime. We’re working on the players who are currently here and those likely to replace them.
‘Of course, the club is working to replace him [Osimhen].’
Previously, Lille president Gerard Lopez indicated that he hopes to raise as much as €80 million (£72.5m/$90m) from the sale of Osimhen, matching the deal that took Nicolas Pepe to Arsenal last season.
Osimhen, who only signed for the Ligue 1 club last year from VfL Wolfsburg, after playing on loan at Belgian side Charleroi is currently one of the most sought-after young attackers in Europe.
He is being linked with clubs in France, Italy, and England
