Xi Lu, 31, went to Wuhan to visit family in January when he got caught up in the coronavirus outbreak, arguing the Chinese are more willing to follow science than Brits

A Londoner stuck in Wuhan for 141 days during the city’s severe lockdown believes the Chinese are “more obedient” than Brits, allowing the country to quickly curb the coronavirus.

Xi Lu left the English capital in January to visit family before quickly finding himself sealed inside the city after the initial outbreak.

The 31-year-old has described how people were advised to stay at home except for buying food, with masks mandatory from the start.

The lockdown was at its strictest for around 11 weeks, in which time Mr Lu only left his residence to collect deliveries from his building’s foyer.
