EXCLUSIVE: Covid-19 survivor Chanda Drew, 48, has been overcome by persistent and disgusting odours, including rotting meat, burning grease and petrol, that only she can detect due to a condition called parosmia

A mum suffering from ‘long Covid’ says everything smells rancid like rotting meat and wine now tastes like hot butter.

Chanda Drew couldn’t smell or taste anything after she caught coronavirus, and for her the lingering effects six months on have been much worse than her initial symptoms.

The 48-year-old has suffered from depression, anxiety, and fog brain, and lost 35lbs while dealing with parosmia, a condition that distorts natural odours and makes them extremely unpleasant or even vomit-inducing.

Chanda thought she was finished with Covid-19 until a “putrid” odour came from nowhere, and for months she has struggled with persistent odours, including burning grease and petrol, that have made her feel sick and unable to eat.
