Manchester City star Kevin de Bruyne is reportedly not impressed with the Etihad club following the new contract terms they have offered him.
Reports have it that the Belgian whose contract expires in 2023 is annoyed with the new offer he received as the Citizens are desperate to keep him at the club. The 29-year-old’s current contract which he signed in 2018 sees him take home around £250,000-a-week, but reports claim he has been offered reduced wages in a fresh contract.
De Bruyne is reportedly frustrated with the idea as he feels it is because the club is desperate to welcome Barcelona star Lionel Messi. The Argentine star’s contract lapses this summer and has been heavily linked with a move to joining Pep Guardiola at Manchester City. Man City correspondent Sam Lee said on David Ornstein’s Youtube show
De Bruyne is still most likely going to sign a Man City contract but he is annoyed.
have it on very good sources that De Bruyne had been complaining to his Belgium team-mates that City’s offer to him was slightly less than he is on already – with all things considered.”

Manchester City led the move for the six-time Ballon d’Or in August 2020 after he handed the Catalan club his transfer request, but was forced to reverse his decision after the club cited a clause in his contract.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that City have set a new record in English football following their 3-1 win over Swansea in the FA Cup quarter-finals as they reach the semis. Goals by Kyle Walker, Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus were enough to hand the Citizens their 15th straight win in all competitions. Although debutant Morgan Whittaker pulled one back for Swansea, it doesn’t stop Pep Guardiola’s side from setting a new record for most consecutive wins by an English club.
