Madden has been part of Maroon 5 since the early days of the band’s inception and also played alongside the group before they found fame, in the 90s. This isn’t the first time the bassist has been in trouble with police officers, after he was arrested on cocaine charges four years ago.

A spokesperson for the group confirming the arrest to British news site Metro UK said:  ‘We are deeply devastated by this disappointing news. As we learn more, we are looking at this very seriously. ‘For now, we are allowing all of the individuals involved the space to work things through.’
