In a moment during the sneak peek at the third installment of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 13 reunion, Kyle Richards opened up about the toll that persistent rumors of infidelity regarding her husband, Mauricio Umansky, have taken on her trust in their marriage.

With tears in her eyes, Kyle revealed to host Andy Cohen how these rumors had slowly chipped away at her over time, causing her to grapple with doubt and insecurity.

Reflecting on the constant barrage of tabloid stories discussing Mauricio’s alleged infidelity, Kyle shared with Andy, “He would say to me, ‘You know, we can’t care. We know the truth and you know.’ But of course, there’s always that little voice in my head like, ‘What if this is true?’”

In an exclusive interview with ET’s Brice Sander, Mauricio addressed Kyle’s revelation, expressing uncertainty about what led to her loss of trust.

“I don’t know what that is,” Mauricio stated. “All I can tell you is that at the end of the day we were married for 29 years, we met when we were kids… I think we’ve been open and honest and I think people need to quit looking for what I always say, ‘Tits on an ant.’”

Mauricio responds to criticism regarding the portrayal of his separation from Kyle on Buying Beverly Hills versus The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

He refuted the notion, asserting, “That’s not fair, that’s not fair. The Housewives is a completely different dynamic. I’m working with these three girls all day long. I spend so much time and so many hours with them. So not only am I working with them but I’m also seeing them at home and so the conversations that are happening are totally different.”

Addressing the timing of events, Mauricio explained, “The timing was just different. Particularly in our situation, we were in the middle of rolling when all of the stuff happened with Kyle and I and the news broke and the discussions we were having, Housewives really wasn’t. So not super fair for people to say that about the Housewives in my opinion.”

Delving into his aspirations for his family, Mauricio reflectde, “It’s all about the journey. So you got to take days at a time and sometimes when you’re looking for the end goal you don’t know what to do and life is a journey. And we are on a journey. You cannot control the past, we are in the present and the present will create the future. So fom my perspective it’s really about the journey. I don’t have an end goal at this moment.”

The separation appears to be at the forefront of Mauricio’s Netflix series, Buying Beverly Hills, as underscored in the season 2 trailer. It’s in that trailer where Umansky sits down with his three eldest daughters — Alexia, 27, Sophia, 24, and Farrah, 35 — and things get emotional as he reveals the extent of his issues with their mom.

“I had an amazing 26 years with your mom, and I wanted to do everything possible to just save it,” Umansky shares. “Your mom came and she talked to me and said, ‘I think I need space.'”

“She said to me, ‘Listen, the rules are: you go out, you date, you do whatever it is you want to do. I’m not going to be asking you what you’re doing, I don’t want you to be asking me what I’m doing. We are separated,'” he continues, as his daughters wipe tears from their eyes.

Alexia, Sophia, and Farrah work with their father at his firm, The Agency, and star together on Buying Beverly Hills.Throughout the separation, Umansky and Richards have remained living together under the same roof at their home in Encino, California, with their kids.

Just last month, Richards spoke to 360aproko and insisted she’s being “open and honest” with her fans and castmates as her marriage plays out on season 13 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

“I’m not hiding anything from anybody,” Richards told 360aproko. “I’m working through things myself, and I’m going through something, and I want to be able to be as open as I possibly can, and I will be — when I figure it all out.”

Season 2 of Buying Beverly Hills is set to drop March 22 on Netflix.
