A husband has said he has used power of veto to refuse the name his wife wants to use for their baby daughter, which she chose in honour of her mum who died when she was just a teenager
A soon-to-dad has said he is refusing to name his daughter in memory of his wife’s mother as he’s worried it will lead to their child being bullied “throughout her life”.
He explains that he and his wife recently found out they are expecting a little girl and, having never previously discussed baby names, agreed each of them had the right to veto suggestions they didn’t like.
After discussing possible names, both parents revealed they would like to name their daughter after their late mothers.
The dad said he refused to entertain the idea of naming their baby after his wife’s mother, whose name was Karen, through fear it would always carry links to the meme associated with the name.
