A New York man has been accused of killing his pregnant wife and injuring his two young daughters in a stabbing, authorities said.

Drew J. Garnier, 32, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and two counts of second-degree attempted murder in connection with the alleged incident, according to a press release from the New York State Police.

On Sept. 4, at about 11:30 p.m. officers responded to a home in Masonville, N.Y., on a report of a domestic dispute, police said.

There, authorities found the body of 29-year-old Samantha J. Garnier, whom they identified as Drew’s pregnant wife. Officers also found the couple’s two children, ages 6 and 9, in the home. Police allege they were all stabbed by Drew.

Samantha, who was five months pregnant, was pronounced dead at a local hospital, police said. Both children were also treated at hospitals but are expected to “make a full recovery,” according to release.

Police did not discuss a possible motive.

“Sammi was a beautiful, compassionate, and loving mother who always wanted the best for her babies,” reads a GoFundMe campaign created by loved ones to help with expenses for her daughters, Adelina and Izzie.

The fundraiser states Samantha’s third daughter was due to be born in February 2025 and that she was two weeks away from celebrating her 30th birthday.

According to police,  Drew was arraigned at Delhi Town Court and remanded to the Delaware Jail on no bail. It’s unclear if he has entered a plea to the charges or retained an attorney to speak on his behalf.
