Nick Knowles paid tribute to the death of a severely disabled young boy after he and his family were seen on TV tonight during an episode of DIY SOS.
Oliver had appeared on the show with adopted dad Darren Hudson, who had been struck down with a degenerative spinal condition in 2017, leaving him unable to walk as he faced the rest of his life in a wheelchair.
This left him incredibly fearful about how he would be able to provide from his young family in the future, but was left devastated just months later when his childhood sweetheart died suddenly.
He had been forced to share his severely disabled son Oliver’s bedroom downstairs.
Tonight, viewers watched as Nick and the team transformed Darren’s family home, which he shared with his other children, Harvey and step-son Mike.
Darren was left overwhelmed with the support they received for the local community.
He said on the programme: “Amazing. What you have done for us guys, it’s our next chapter. It’s the next step forward which is massive for us.
