Scotland’s First Minister read out messages she had been accused of withholding from a Parliamentary inquiry into how claims against Alex Salmond were handled. She insisted the messages were ‘not a big revelation’
Nicola Sturgeon today read out messages between her and Alex Salmond on live TV in a row over sexual harassment claims against Scotland’s former First Minister.
Mr Salmond’s lawyers had accused Ms Sturgeon of withholding WhatsApp exchanges from a Scottish Parliament inquiry into how claims against him were handled.
Ms Sturgeon today accepted the messages made “an oblique reference” to claims of inappropriate conduct by Mr Salmond.
That is despite saying she released all relevant evidence to the Holyrood investigation into the government’s botched handling of harassment allegations.
But she told Sky News the messages were “not a big revelation”.
She accused Mr Salmond of being “angry” with her because she “didn’t cover up” allegations against him in 2017.
