When it comes to North West’s style, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree!
While speaking with her mom Kim Kardashian for her Interview magazine cover story, published on Oct. 11, North, 11, said that her dad Kanye West inspires her fashion out of her parents as she discussed her style influences.
In a clip of their chat posted by Kardashian, 43, on her Instagram Stories, she asked North as she sat in a chair looking at the camera, “What’s your favorite style right now?”
“I like streetwear and ’90s. Tyler, the Creator; my dad; me!” North replied.
Her outfit in the clip certainly seemed inspired by her dad, 47, and the ‘90s era as she wore an oversized black and white striped sports jersey with layered cross necklaces in gold, a look the “Famous” rapper has sported frequently in the past.
North is Kim and Kanye’s eldest daughter. The former couple, who divorced in November 2022, also share three other children: son Saint, 8, daughter Chicago, 6, and son Psalm, 5.
North’s praise of her dad Kanye’s style comes as she has been seen rocking many looks borrowed from her dad’s capsule in recent months.
At the Kardashian-Jenner family’s annual Christmas Eve party last year, the 11-year-old wore the rapper’s Balmain jacket he sported at the 2016 Met Gala.
Kim explained on Instagram of North’s borrowed outfit at the time, “You know North went through the archives to pick her dad’s Balmain Met jacket,” adding, “Ifykyk.”
The style-conscious pre-teen also dressed up as a “Dropout bear” mascot from her dad’s 2007 album Graduation in costume for Halloween in October 2023.
That same month, North revealed in an interview that she would like to take over as owner of her dad’s clothing brand Yeezy — along with her mom’s successful shapewear brand SKIMS.
In her first solo cover story for i-D‘s Fall/Winter 2023 issue, the 11-year-old said, “…One day I want to own Yeezy and SKIMS, and I want to be a business owner.”
In her recent chat with Interview, North also revealed her plans to follow in her parents’ footsteps and start her own clothing line in the future.
“Well, I am starting my own clothing line,” she said as Kim asked, “And what are you going to call it?”
“North West,” North fittingly replied.
