Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo continued his fine cup run for Manchester United with a goal in their 2-1 win over Norwich in a quarterfinal clash of the FA Cup on Saturday, June 27.

On from the start, Ighalo endured a frustrating first half but needed just six minutes into the second to put Manchester United ahead.null

It was just a case of being in the right place at the right time, using his right foot to play the ball over Tim Krul for the first goal of the evening.

He didn’t get many services until in the 89th minute when he drew a foul that produced a red card for Norwich. It was an intelligent play from the Nigerian as he received a pass from Marcus Rashford and used his body to make space for himself inside the box before he was fouled by Timm Klose who was sent off.

Ighalo also had a hand in United’s winning goal in extra time. He made space for himself in the Norwich box to receive a pass from Paul Pogba before laying the ball to Anthony Martial. His intended layup instead met Harry Maguire box who fired Manchester United’s winner.

It was a good display by Ighalo who once again proves he belongs at this stage.

This is his fifth goal for Manchester United in only his fourth start. What an impact he’s having.

As usual, Twitter Nigeria had eyes on him all through the game and he didn’t disappoint as he gave them something to cheer about.

As at that the time of this writing, the 30-year-old is the number two trending topic on Twitter Nigeria.
