One of Britain’s longest suffering coronavirus patients has finally left hospital after 149 days, which included four months fighting for his life in intensive care.

Dad-of-two Anil Patel, from London, who was forced to spend his birthday in a hospital bed away from his family, has warned those who don’t take restrictions seriously to think again.

The 63-year-old building manager was admitted to King George Hospital, Ilford, in May after collapsing at his home in Chadwell Heath.

He tested positive before being put into ITU, where he spent eight weeks under sedation.

The brave dad has urged people to take restrictions seriously
