Police in Haiti last night shot dead four men suspected to have murdered the country’s president.
They also arrested two more men believed to have been involved in the killing of Jovenel Moïse, reports claim.
Police chief Leon Charles said the suspected assassins were killed by officers and two others were arrested during an apparent hostage-taking situation, NPR reports.https://googleads.g.doubleclick.net/pagead/ads?gdpr=0&us_privacy=1—&client=ca-pub-2427099653703778&output=html&h=250&adk=2616620153&adf=667904977&pi=t.aa~a.1834861711~i.15~rp.4&w=330&fwrn=5&fwrnh=100&lmt=1625729930&num_ads=1&rafmt=1&armr=3&sem=mc&pwprc=4779063894&psa=1&ad_type=text_image&format=330×250&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.lindaikejisblog.com%2F2021%2F7%2Fpolice-shoot-dead-four-of-haitian-presidents-killers-and-arrest-two-more.html&flash=0&fwr=0&pra=3&rh=275&rw=330&rpe=1&resp_fmts=3&sfro=1&wgl=1&fa=27&adsid=ChAI8MSahwYQ3_-juqfM6ZsYEkgAjiRWpvWrQf8I7KTl_LNVmhWpw4FRLGDYzMVQIzTDwawv4aXlW0u2idmcriryhMrXzNtBge-XMu6W3Jyt27hqq7BP_OtJfbI&dt=1625729929664&bpp=23&bdt=13342&idt=-M&shv=r20210624&cbv=%2Fr20190131&ptt=9&saldr=aa&abxe=1&cookie=ID%3D6f62d75ac2f0c0c6-2251d019a8c80035%3AT%3D1622665487%3ART%3D1622665487%3AS%3DALNI_MZ85Ep3SvTaGfc8Juk8Onrd6Hwi6g&prev_fmts=350×90%2C330x250%2C0x0&nras=2&correlator=5510690555961&frm=20&pv=1&ga_vid=1187515804.1622665486&ga_sid=1625729923&ga_hid=1916058292&ga_fc=0&u_tz=60&u_his=5&u_java=0&u_h=800&u_w=360&u_ah=800&u_aw=360&u_cd=24&u_nplug=0&u_nmime=0&adx=15&ady=1871&biw=360&bih=299&scr_x=0&scr_y=0&eid=42530672%2C31060973%2C31061745%2C31060474&oid=3&psts=AGkb-H8h1-dHGsDG95yO_iDebfDpfgpoAv1s31aDLDSg3969nmiohKVNYj1jxb5mVHq9n4iv8rUg-RzWug%2CAGkb-H_AyBKFkBv4Xy48LjQhsDxiFeikjU_i55SP7uZsJnZo22C4ytxYbfzCNVLb7ePo0zzQnklYMS-WX9ZG&pvsid=838213052142648&pem=584&ref=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.lindaikejisblog.com%2F&eae=0&fc=384&brdim=0%2C0%2C0%2C0%2C360%2C0%2C360%2C299%2C360%2C299&vis=1&rsz=%7C%7Cs%7C&abl=NS&fu=128&bc=31&jar=2021-07-08-07&ifi=6&uci=a!6&btvi=2&fsb=1&xpc=Rr40dZpAxx&p=https%3A//www.lindaikejisblog.com&dtd=853
Three police officers held hostage were freed, Charles confirmed.
One high-ranking Haitian government official said: “These were mercenaries”.
