Lala Kent is opening up about a scary moment in her second pregnancy.
The Vanderpump Rules star, 33, shared on the July 24 episode of her podcast Give Them Lalathat she began to not feel right during a “party at my house over the weekend.”
“I walked this little kid up the stairs to show him the playroom and all of a sudden my arms and legs went numb, and I could not breathe,” she recalled. “And [it] took everything in me to not pass out and just make it to my bed.”
An emotional Kent continued, “And I was trying to yell for my mom, but again, I was really struggling, and I was very, very concerned.”
The reality TV star said her mom was eventually able to get her obstetrician on the phone, while she repositioned herself “in a different way.” This seemed to work as “all of a sudden I could breathe,” she noted.
“[My obstetrician] asked me, ‘Is [the] baby moving?’ She was definitely active,” Kent explained. “I said [to the doctor], ‘She hasn’t stopped moving. And he was like, ‘Oh, okay, I’m less concerned now … she could be positioned weird.’ ”
She said her doctor then advised her to “start staying off” her “feet” and to not “overdo it during the day” — something which the expectant mom said she could be doing better with.
Kent went on to share that the experience was “really terrifying,” adding, “I felt this overwhelming amount of guilt because I’ve been complaining a lot about my [body] aching and just wanting it to be done.”
She said that since the incident she has been doing “okay” but still felt winded doing some physical activities like walking from her car to a building or “walking up stairs”.
Kent, who is already mom to 3-year-old daughter Ocean Kent Emmett, celebrated the upcoming birth of her second child with a baby shower on July 14 attended by her family and friends, including some of her VPR costars. She wore a romantic tie-dye dress for the occasion, featuring a defined waistline, billowing skirt and puffy sleeves, from the brand Selkie.
The Bravo star, who underwent IUI [intrauterine insemination] for her second pregnancy, has been chronicling parts of her pregnancy journey on social media.
One of her latest updates came in June when she posted a photo of an ultrasound image of her second baby girl to her Instagram Stories. “Baby S, we can’t wait to welcome you to our family,” she wrote.
