Rebekah Vardy has claimed she was the victim of a sick blackmail plot by a troll who allegedly threatened to release “sex videos”.
The WAG is suing Coleen Rooney for libel in a bid to clear her name over the Wagatha Christie row and there’s a preliminary hearing at London’s High Court today.
Wayne Rooney’s wife, 34, publicly accused Rebekah’s account of leaking stories from her private Instagram page to the press – a claim Rebekah has vehemently denied.
As part of the case, Rebekah released a statement to the court in which she described the vicious trolling she’d suffered after the post.
She presented a number of messages which included one which contained false claims about her husband Jamie – falsely alleging he’d been unfaithful and the poster had “sex videos”.
The poster allegedly threatened to post the alleged videos unless Rebekah sent a sum of bitcoins.
The message read: “Hey Becki, For now I will be anonymous but represent Coleen’s Army. Coz it is payback time!
“This is very serious and if this leaks out there, it will be the end of you and Jamie. I have evidence of Jamie’s infidelity.
“Not only that, and what’s worse, I even have the nudes and the sex videos. Yours, of course. Just one thing – send 2.5 bitcoin (BTC) TODAY to this bitcoin wallet address…
“If I do not hear from you by this time tomorrow I will leak online and anonymously forward this evidence to the media. Waiting…”
