Rod Stewart has hit out at Sir Elton John for ignoring efforts to bury their rift and end the years long feud.

The 75-year-old singer said that his fellow singing legend has deliberately spurned opportunities to make up after the pair had a ‘big fall out’.

Sir Rod said that he offered an olive branch to Elton and that it was a shame that he continues to blank any advances to bury the hatchet.

Speaking to Virgin Radio breakfast host Chris Evans, on his How to Wow podcast, Rod said that he hoped that their shared love of football could be a base to work on.

He told the motormouth DJ: “We don’t talk to each other anymore. Big falling out.”
