Sarah Ferguson is sending love and cheer ahead of Christmas.
The Duchess of York, 65, posted a video to Instagram on Dec. 24 of herself and corgis Muick and Sandy, who she adopted from Queen Elizabeth after the monarch’s death on Sept. 8, 2022. In the clip, Ferguson and the dogs wandered about a grassy area as she shared well-wishes for the holidays — especially those who might be struggling emotionally this season.
“It’s a time of reflection and I just want to say thank you,” she began, as the corgis wagged their tails and sniffed the grass. “And a huge embrace of goodness to, and kindness to those of you who have been so kind and so supportive.”
She continued, “People all over the world that are feeling a little bit low or sad, just take some joy and bubbles from us, here,” as she pointed to the corgis.
“We’re sending you so much love, and you must just keep showing light, turning to the light, finding the joy and saying thank you,” she concluded. “I really just think that’s so important. So thank you.”
Ferguson’s words come after news that she and ex-husband Prince Andrew (who she remains close to and lives with at Royal Lodge on the Windsor estate) would not be attending the royal family’s Christmas celebrations at Sandringham. The decision was made very shortly after reports emerged that Prince Andrew, 64, had connections to an alleged Chinese spy.

Prince Andrew and Ferguson, who married in 1986 and divorced a decade later, are likely to spend Christmas at their shared home, Royal Lodge.
Though she and Prince Andrew divorced nearly 30 years ago, Ferguson has repeatedly stood by the Duke of York through scandals and controversies over the years, specifically the recent Chinese spy allegations and his disastrous 2019 BBC Newsnight interview which effectively ended his career as a working royal.
In a recent interview with the Sunday Times, Ferguson reaffirmed her support for her ex-husband, stating she had no regrets about her life with him.
“I won’t let him down,” Ferguson told the outlet. “He supports me as much as I support him. He’s supported me through thick and thin, not just marriage or divorce. We agree on the three Cs — communication, compromise, compassion.”
