Turns out Shaquille O’Neal isn’t always the tallest person in the room.
The former NBA star, 52, was recently “out-gianted” when he had a hilarious encounter with a Florida Gators player, who holds the Guinness Record for the world’s tallest teen.
O’Neal, who stands at 7 foot, 1 inch, met up with 18-year-old Olivier Rioux, a 7-foot 9-inch tall center for the college basketball team, in a videoposted by Hot Freestyle on Friday, Jan. 10.
In the clip, O’Neal can be seen berating Logan Bohbot, the director of artist management at Medium Rare. But, when he turns around, he finds his face level with Rioux’s chest.
O’Neal then slowly tilts his head up to look the freshman in the eye, before turning to look at the camera with a shocked look on his face. The two athletes then burst out in laughter.
“SHAQ got out-gianted. 😂,” Hot Freestyle captioned the post, which was also shared by O’Neal’s official Instagram account.
The retired athlete, who has since taken on DJing as a new profession, also shared a raw version of the video under his DJ Diesel account. He captioned the post: “Pick on someone your own size 😂.”
According to Guinness World Records, Rioux earned the title of world’s tallest teenager when he reached a height of 7 feet, 5 inches at the age of 15.
In the comments section of the Instagram post, fans reacted to the hilarious encounter.
“😂 Funniest video i have seen on the internet today thank you,” one person wrote, as another added, “Lmao bro IS the damn hoop.”
“You know it’s wild when Shaq has to look up,” said another Instagram user, as one more wrote: “Shaq only looks up to the Statue of Liberty…till now…😂😂😂.”
