Slash’s Late Stepdaughter Lucy-Bleu Knight’s Cause of Death Revealed After She Died at Age 25

Lucy-Bleu Knight’s cause of death has been revealed.

According to a press release from the Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s Office, PEOPLE can confirm Slash’s stepdaughter died of “hydrogen sulphide toxicity” at the age of 25. She died by suicide.

Per the Center for Disease Control, “inhalation of high concentrations” of the “highly toxic, colorless gas” can cause “rapid unconsciousness and death.”

On July 21, the Guns N’ Roses guitarist, 59, revealed on Instagram that Knight, died “peacefully” at 25 years old in Los Angeles on July 19, calling her an “incredibly talented artist, a passionate dreamer and a charming, lovable, sweet soul.” On Instagram, he asked “for privacy” and that “social media speculation be kept to a minimum as they grieve and process this devastating loss.”

At the time, Slash did not reveal specifics surrounding her cause of death, and representatives for the musician declined to comment when reached.

On July 21, two days after Knight’s death, a seemingly scheduled post was shared to her Instagram page, which featured a selfie and a caption reflecting on her relationships with people in her life.

Per the “Beautiful Dangerous” musician’s Instagram post, Knight, born on Dec. 6, 1998, was the “beloved daughter of Meegan Hodges and Mark Knight, stepdaughter of Samantha Somers Knight and Slash, sister of Scarlet Knight, stepsister of London and Cash Hudson.”

On July 28, Slash shared another heartfelt post about his late stepdaughter on Instagram.

“My heart is permenantly [sic] fractured,” he wrote alongside a photo of Knight. “I will never ever stop missing you & remembering what a beacon of happiness, laughter, creativity & beauty you have always been. & still are.”

Slash added: “The brightest light in the lives of so many that loved you so much. I find solace in the hope that you are at peace now. I will love you eternally.”

Slash, whose birth name is Saul Hudson, initially began dating Knight’s mother, Meegan Hodges, in 1989. However, the pair split until they rekindled their romance more than two decades later in 2015.

I’m Before sharing news of Knight’s death, the guitar icon had announced the cancellation of four shows on his S.E.R.P.E.N.T. Festival 2024 tour from July 22-27 via social media.
