Soldier arrested for saying Burutai has failed

In the viral video, Lance Corporal Martins lamented over the poor manner with which the Chief of Army Staff and other security chiefs have handled insurgency and insecurity in the country.

Martins particularly condemned Buratai, and Chief of Defence Staff, General Abayomi Gabriel Olonisakin for not being committed to ending the incessant killings of Nigerians by terrorists and armed bandits.

He alleged that the military ordered the illegal detention of some soldiers, who demanded better weapons and ammunition to combat Boko Haram and other terrorist sects across the nation.

He said he knows he will definitely be arrested and probably killed for the video but said he is not afraid of Burutai because he is not God and is ready to sacrifice himself for the betterment of the country.

Nevertheless, the soldier called on Nigerian lawyers and human rights activists to stand up and fight for him.
