The quake hit the Dodecanese Islands

A 6.7 magnitude earthquake struck Greece’s Dodecanese Islands on Friday, the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) said.

Locals said buildings shook for over two minutes during the quake with reports of some collapses.

It is reported to have hit at 2pm local time.

EMSC initially registered the magnitude of the earthquake as 6.5.

The Dodecanese Islands – which includes Rhodes – are a chain of island in the Agean Sea and are popular with British tourists.
