Three people were injured when a vehicle crashed into a commercial motorcycle in the Panseke area of Abeokuta South Local Government Area of Ogun State.

According to Punch, a Lexus SUV with number plate LND 561 HZ,  rammed into the motorcycle on Sunday, December 3, 2023.

Three persons, including a commercial motorcyclist and two passengers, sustained injuries on their palms and legs with visible wounds.

One of the victims who identified simply as Tife, claimed that the driver of the speeding vehicle had initially vowed to hit them, which he eventually did.

“I had an altercation with the driver of the Lexus vehicle while leaving the premises of the eatery that I had gone to eat at with my friend, and he vowed to hit us with his vehicle. When we boarded the bike, he eventually did that,” she said.

The driver of the commercial motorcycle, who does not want his name in print, also disclosed that he was not aware that the passengers he carried had already had an altercation with the Lexus driver, as he only realised that the vehicle was driving recklessly behind them and eventually hit him and the passengers.

“I took these passengers from an eatery nearby, and while in motion, I realised that the vehicle behind was speeding and swinging around, which I tried to avoid, but it eventually hit us. He has caused damage to my motorcycle and injured me and the passengers,” he said.

An eyewitness who identified as Wale stated that he observed that the vehicle was overspeeding when he hit the commercial motorcycle, and when the driver realized that he had hit some people, he left the vehicle and fled.

“I wanted to cross to the other side of the road when I saw that the vehicle was speeding, and while trying to swing in another direction, the Lexus vehicle collided with the commercial motorcycle going in front. I think when the driver saw that he had injured the passengers on the commercial motorcycle, he and other occupants in the vehicle left the vehicle and fled,” Wale said.
