Like father, like son!

Charlie Woods, the 15-year-old son of golf great Tiger Woods, celebrated alongside his father after hitting his very first hole-in-one during tournament play at the 2024 PNC Championship in Orlando on Sunday, Dec. 22.

The proud-dad moment went down during the fourth hole, amid the tournament’s second round, one day after Tiger stepped onto the course with his son and 17-year-old daughter Sam — who served as his caddie — for the first round of this year’s event.

Charlie, who first paired up with Tiger for the tournament in 2020 before continuing the family tradition yet again this year, was captured in a video clip, shared by the PGA Tour, making his milestone shot. After Charlie hit the ball, Golf Channel commentators commended the teen on his “really great contact,” before the ball quickly rolled right into the hole at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club.

Per the PGA Tour, Charlie’s shot was on a par-3 hole and traveled 176 feet for the ace. He used a 7-iron before the ball landed about 6 feet from the hole itself and then rolled into the cup.

While Charlie began to walk away from where he swung, he quickly realized that he made a hole-in-one, shrugged his shoulders and smiled as onlookers surrounded him. Dad Tiger then walked over, opened his arms for a big hug and gave Charlie a playful push on the course.

“It was a perfect 7-iron, so just kind of hit it,” Charlie told the Golf Channel immediately after his milestone moment. “Down off the left, a little cut 7. It was awesome. I didn’t think it went in. I don’t believe anybody until I go up there and see it.”

According to CBS, the shot marked Charlie’s “first-ever” hole-in-one. His dad has 20 career hole-in-ones, three of which occurred during the PGA Tour, per Golf Monthly.

In another angle of the moment shared by the PNC Championship, Charlie could be heard calling the shot “awesome.”

“What a way to do it,” he said while smiling with his sister.

Charlie’s latest triumph comes as he and his sister joined Tiger for yet another family outing at the PNC Championship — where last year, Sam made her caddying debut at the 36-hole competition.

Tiger has previously told reporters that he’s always “excited” to play a round of golf with his son. “Charlie clearly loves the times he spends with his dad on the golf course,” a source close to Woods told us in 2020. “It’s a definite bonding activity for the two of them.”

The athlete shares both of his children with ex-wife Elin Nordegren, whom he married in 2004 and later divorced in 2010.

“I just love being with them and seeing what they’re doing, what they’re capable of doing — the joys, the shifts of interest. It’s just fun. We have a great time together,” Tiger said about his two children back in 2011.

Charlie has since followed in his dad’s footsteps, as he attempted to qualify for the U.S. Open in April. He fell short but later qualified for his first USGA tournament in June. Tiger previously told reporters he’d be “proud” of Charlie no matter what career path he chose, but was excited to hit the course with his son for tournament play at the PNC Championship for the first time in 2020.

“I don’t think words can describe it,” Tiger said. “Just the fact that we were able to have this experience together, Charlie and I, it’s memories for a lifetime.”
