Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea are among the Premier League clubs expecting to do business before the transfer window slams tonight

The clock is ticking on Transfer Deadline Day as clubs frantically try to get some last-minute business done.

Alex Telles has completed his move to Manchester United while the Red Devils have already agreed a deal for Edinson Cavani, but a move for Jadon Sancho looks doubtful.

Sancho is in the UK to meet up with the England squad but Borussia Dortmund continue to insist he’s going nowhere.

Arsenal are finally moving to seal a deal for the Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey – their long-time No.1 midfield target – by paying his release clause.

That means the Gunners don’t need to negotiate with Atleti – they just need to pay the £45million fee, in full, up front to La Liga. With time running out, can they get it over the line?

Matteo Guendouzi meanwhile has gone, having joined Hertha Berlin on loan for the season.

Liverpool and Chelsea are unlikely to make any last-minute signings but are trying to get several players off the wage bill.

Romero’s wife blasts Man Utd over blocked transfer

Sergio Romero’s wife has slammed Manchester United for their treatment the goalkeeper after he was unable to seal a move away from the club.

Romero has fallen down the pecking order after Dean Henderson returned from Sheffield United on loan to provide competition for David de Gea in the No.1 spot. That has left Romero as the third in line for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side and facing the prospect of barely playing this season.

He was linked with a move to Premier League rivals Everton or elsewhere but a move has not materialised on Deadline Day – and wife Eliana Guercio has slammed the club for failing to give him an opportunity elsewhere as she referenced his success at the club.
