Just when Boko Haram insurgents felt they have won the battle in Borno, their joy was shortlived

Just hours after Boko Haram insurgents killed a lot of villagers in Gubio, Borno, troops of the Nigerian Army on Wednesday, June 10, retaliated in the offensive around Sambisa forest.
Apart from the fact that soldiers of Operation Lafiya Dole neutralised many terrorists in the state, the insurgents’ hideout in the Kacha Korle area of the ill-fated forest was destroyed, Channels TV reports.
This victory for the military was confirmed on Wednesday by Major General John Enenche, the coordinator of the Defence media operations.

In his report, Enenche disclosed that the hideout was always a meeting and staging point for the terrorists.
He revealed that the victory was as a result of intelligence gathering by the Air task force that dealt a devastating blow on the location.

The commander said: “Overhead the target area, many BHT fighters were observed in and around some prominent structures. These were engaged in successive passes by the attack aircraft leading to the destruction of some of the structures as well as the neutralization of several of the terrorists.”
