Brits are waking up to heavy rain, “relentless” winds and the risk of thunder and lightning later as the washout week continues.
The Met Office issued a 12-hour, yellow weather warning for rain and covering parts of England and Wales staring last night and it continues into Thursday.
The downpours are expected to cause disruption for bus and train services this morning, with flooding on roads causing further problems for commuters.
Homes and businesses are also at risk of becoming water logged, the Met Office advisory states, with the bad weather stretching from Cardiff in the south to Manchester in the north.
Birmingham in the West Midlands and all of Wales are also affected by the miserable start to the day, with the warning in place until at least 9am today.
