UNILAG ranked third as one of the universities that are most productive in teaching entrepreneurial skills in Africa
- The University of Cape Town and Makere led while the University of Nairobi came fourth on the list compiled by Forbes
- UNILAG has reacted to the ranking, saying it wants to use the opportunity to remind all of its mandate to produce creative students
The University of Lagos (UNILAG), Akoka, has been ranked as the third most productive school in teaching entrepreneurial skills in Africa.
In a Forbes report titled If You Want To Start A Tech-Company In Africa, Go To College, the university was considered as the powerhouse of Nigeria, The Nation reports.
On the list, the University of Cape Town and the Makerere led in the ranking, while the University of Nairobi, Kenya, and Stellenbosch University followed in the fourth and fifth positions.
Among the things the analytical report looked at was education; where and what the entrepreneurs studied and the level of education they achieved.
It was also submitted that having at least a bachelor’s degree is important for a startup to survive in Africa.
UNILAG has reacted to the ranking with gratitude as it reminded all of its aim to keep churning out creative thinkers from the institution
