”Nigeria finally happened to you, Nna.
After all this years of trying to get out of here, of pushing for a better life, of surviving. Nigeria has now happened to you.
They say it’s unknown gunmen, I say they’re well known by the God of Heaven. And by God, I curse the generations of everyone involved in your death. May they suffer for snatching you away from us. May they wish for death and never see it because life and death would reject them. It shall never be well with their generations.
Just on Saturday we were talking about your upcoming birthday on the 27th of July. We joked about the surprise I would pull for you.
We joked about who gives more gift. And, I was even explaining why I haven’t returned the funds you borrowed me in May. And then.
The Abatete killings of yesterday took you, my love.
You should have fought to stay. But I couldn’t imagine the pains you must have suffered.
The unknown gun men happened to you. You didn’t deserve to die like that. They should have at least let you celebrate your next birthday.
We’re broken into pieces at your news of your death. Nobody is strong for the other. Nobody. Everybody is looking at everybody in broken parts.
Dear Jesus, help us deal with this, please”
