Shops in Wales have been ordered to stop selling toys and clothes as the country enterx a second national lockdown.

Police officers have been patrolling the border between Wales and England to stop trips from one country to the other.

A 17-day “firebreak” lockdown was introduced by the Welsh Government following a spike in coronavirus cases and came into force at 6pm on Friday.

Hundreds of shops have been told to close during the lockdown period, while those that can remain open to sell only “essential” items.

Electrical goods, clothes, toys, furniture, bedding and products for the garden have been cordoned off or removed from superstores, as pictures taken in Welsh supermarkets show.

The sale of toys and clothes has been banned as they are considered non-essential items
