First responders are still looking for six people who remain unaccounted for one day after the superyacht Bayesian sank off the coast of Sicily following a major storm.

Among those unaccounted for include four British passengers and two Americans, CNN, The Independent and Sky News reported.

Chairman of Morgan Stanley International Jonathan Bloomer and his wife Judy were aboard the 183-foot yacht when the vessel, carrying 22 people, began taking on water during the early morning hours of Monday, Aug. 19.

London-based insurance company Hiscox — of which Bloomer is also chairman — issued a statement on Aug. 20. regarding the tragedy.

“Our thoughts are with all those affected, in particular our chair, Jonathan Bloomer, and his wife Judy, who are among the missing, and with their family as they await further news from this terrible situation,” Chief Executive Aki Hussain said, per CNN.

New York City attorney Christopher Morvino, a partner at London-based Clifford Chance, and his wife Neda, a jewelry designer, were also on the boat. They are parents of two daughters, Sabrina and Sophia, according to a LinkedIn post Morvino wrote in June.

According to The Independent, the group — which included several attorneys — had gathered to celebrate a recent legal victory in the U.S. in which Lynch was cleared of fraud accusations.

Lynch and his 18-year-old daughter, Hannah, are also missing following the incident. Hannah’s school in west London said in a statement, per The Guardian, that they were “all incredibly shocked by the news that Hannah and her father are among those missing in this tragic incident and our thoughts are with their family and everyone involved as we await further updates.”

Lynch’s wife, Angela Bacares, was one of 15 people saved out of a total of 22 who were originally aboard the Bayesian, the Italian coast guard and local sources said. Eight of the rescued were taken to local hospitals.

The body of the yacht’s chef, identified by Reuters as Antiguan citizen Ricardo Thomas, was found near the vessel on Aug. 19.

Thomas was an inspiration to young Black children who wanted to get into the yachting world, his friend Eli Fuller told the BBC.

“The kids would see all these white people working on yachts,” Fuller added. “For them to see an Antiguan man travelling all over the world – it was important for our community.”
