A mum has been locked in a 16-month legal battle after a Mother’s Day present blunder.

Elaine Webster has been landed with a £255 fine and lengthy court proceedings after going for afternoon tea with her sister last year.

Her daughter Nadine bought her a Groupon voucher at the Humber View Hotel as a Mother’s Day present.

Elaine and sister Terri pulled up in “torrential rain” outside the hotel at just after 3pm on June 2, 2019.

After seeing a “patrons only” sign in the car park, both women headed quickly inside, Hull Live reports.

Elaine has faced a £225 parking fine
