Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro has admitted that he is not under pressure to win, despite recent criticism over the team’s performance.

Peseiro will need to win the title at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations to keep his job.

Peseiro says playing for Nigeria is a huge task and promised that his players will deliver on the pitch.

“To play for Nigeria is not easy, 200 million football fans want to win and we need to answer with good results on the pitch,” the Portuguese told a press conference on Saturday

“I don’t speak about our last results, I speak about how we can improve our results. We create always and we need that balance.

“We will give our best in tomorrow’s game. I’m not under pressure and we will do the best on the pitch ”

Asked if the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has settled his outstanding salaries the Portuguese tactician said that money is not the team’s problem for now.

“Money and bonuses should be the last discussion, we need good results first. We all need money, but money is the last discussion,” he added.

“I don’t discuss my salary and bonuses with the media.”
