POLICE in Akwa Ibom state, Thursday, urged the populace to assist in locating parents and relations of three siblings, age between three and six years, found lost with no idea of their parents’ identity or where they reside.

Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP Timfon John, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Akwa Ibom Command on the call yesterday for public assistance noted that the children, all male, were found and brought to attention of the Police 10 days ago.

ASP Timfon John’s statement captured that, “Three siblings, all of same parents namely; Daniel Akan “M” 6yrs, Matthew Akan Christian “M” 5yrs, Japther Akan Christian “M” 3yrs all of Ikot Akpa Efor Uruan were found by a concerned Nigerian on 30th of April, 2024.

“The children were found along old Oron Road in Ibiaku Ishiet and taken to Dakada Division of the Police Command. Efforts to locate Parents or relatives of the boys by Police operatives in Dakada Division have so far proved abortive.

“In quest to locate relatives or guardian of the boys, they were taken to Ibesikpo Asutan Division, and thereafter transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) Family Unit.

“Anyone who has useful information about the parent(s) or relatives of these boys should contact the Police Public Relations Officer via 0916 983 92130903 243 5667 or visit any nearest Police Station.

“The Akwa Ibom State Police Command under the leadership of CP Waheed Ayilara is committed in ensuring the safety of lives and property of Akwa Ibomites.”
