Bayern Munich beat Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1 to make it through to the German Cup final

Bayern Munich moved a step closer in winning their first silverware of the season following a 2-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in the German Cup semi finals.

It was a repeat of 2018 final where Frankfurt lifted the Pokal trophy at the expense of the Bavarians, winning by 2-1.

Ivan Perisic got on the scoresheet in the first half as he headed home from a Thomas Muller’s assist, which is his 23rd assist of the season.

Frankfurt came back stronger in the second half as substitute Danny da Costa leveled matters with 20 minutes left to play.

Bayern’s goal-machine Robert Lewandowski restored the lead in the 74th minutes after sliding in from the near post from Davies low cross to make it 2-1 and it proved to be the winner.

Hans-Dieter Flick’s men continued their impressive form in the 2019-20 season as they keep their hopes alive for a treble win.

Bayern Munich continue their quest to win the treble this season as they are in contention for the Bundesliga, Champions League and the German Cup.

The Bundesliga defending champions are just a win away for securing the league title and have a round of 16, 3-0 first-leg advantage over Chelsea in the Champions League.

Red hot Lewandoski is the top marksman in Europe this season with 42 goals, 30 of them recorded in the Bundesliga while scoring 11 in the Champions League.
