Stephanie Nelson, 32, was sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment after police stopped her car and found 15kg of cocaine in the boot of her car. But her assets at the time of her arrest were £41.05 so that is what she was ordered to pay

Stephanie Nelson, 32, was four months pregnant when Kent Police stopped her Hyundai iX35 in the Dartford Tunnel in June last year and found 15kg of the high purity drug in a magnetised void in the boot.

The businesswoman later pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply cocaine and was sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment, which was subsequently reduced to eight years and three months on appeal in May this year.

The prosecution initially alleged she made almost £700,000 from her involvement in the drugs plot.
