Boris Johnson is expected to announce a second national lockdown to curb the spread of coronavirus but it is not known how harsh the restrictions will be.

It has been reported that Government scientists presented the Prime Minister with NHS data that is so grim he has been left with no choice.

However, no final decisions are believed to have been made, and tougher regional measures – such as the introduction of Tier 4 – are also being considered.
