A man has died after sustaining “critical injuries” during an assault near a train station in West Sussex.

Police are now searching for the suspect following the incident in Three Bridges, Crawley, late on Tuesday night.

Pictures showed forensic teams scouring the area with a large cordon in place around the crime scene.

Sussex Police said on Twitter: “Sadly, a man has died after sustaining critical injuries in an assault in Russell Way, Crawley, on Tuesday evening.
