EXCLUSIVE: Andrew Green, 53, from Washingborough, Lincolnshire, has been watching the pennies for a decade and simply wants to take his daughters on holiday with the money he claims he won on the Betfred website

Andrew Green said he laughed and cried when he won the £1.7million jackpot

A dad who is taking Betfred to court after being denied a £1.7million jackpot dreams of taking his daughters abroad with the cash.

Andrew Green, 53, from Washingborough, Lincolnshire, has only been able to afford one family holiday in the last 10 years.

The single dad was overjoyed when he ‘won’ £1.7million in a game of blackjack on the Betfred website in 2018, thinking his money worries were finally over.

He planned to splash out on his daughters, aged 17 and 20, and enjoy the luxuries they had gone without since his divorce in 2010.

However, his dreams were shattered just days later when Betfred told him he would not receive the jackpot as his win was caused by a ‘software glitch’.

Mr Green, who runs a powder coating business, has been battling for the money ever since and is due to take his case to the High Court on Thursday.
